As the UI/UX Designer behind RecyClean, my goal was to create a mobile application that encourages sustainable habits through a simple, engaging, and intuitive user experience. Rather than focusing only on aesthetics, I wanted to build a product that motivates users to recycle consistently while making waste management easier and more accessible in everyday life.
The design process began with understanding the daily challenges people face in recycling. Through user research, interviews, and journey mapping, I discovered that many users struggle to identify recyclable materials, locate recycling centers, and track their environmental contributions. These findings became the foundation for creating a user-centered application that simplifies recycling activities.
I designed a clean information architecture that allows users to quickly classify waste, discover nearby recycling stations, schedule pickups, monitor recycling history, collect reward points, and track their environmental impact through interactive dashboards. Every interaction was carefully designed to minimize complexity while encouraging long-term engagement.
To maintain consistency throughout the application, I developed a scalable design system consisting of eco-inspired color palettes, typography, iconography, reusable UI components, spacing systems, buttons, forms, cards, navigation patterns, and responsive layouts. This approach ensured visual consistency while improving collaboration between designers and developers.
The application includes waste classification, recycling center locator, pickup scheduling, QR code recycling verification, environmental impact dashboard, reward points, achievement badges, educational content, push notifications, recycling history, user profiles, responsive mobile interfaces, and an administration dashboard for managing users, recycling partners, and collection activities.
Throughout this project, I focused on creating a balance between usability, accessibility, and environmental awareness. Every design decision was guided by the goal of making sustainable living feel effortless. The interface was intentionally designed to be clean, modern, and motivating, helping users develop positive recycling habits while enjoying a seamless digital experience.
This project demonstrates my ability to transform sustainability goals into meaningful digital experiences through user research, UX strategy, wireframing, prototyping, interface design, design systems, usability testing, and close collaboration with developers. The final result is a scalable, user-friendly recycling application that encourages positive environmental behavior while supporting a smarter and cleaner future.
